The Kimberley Process definition falls short by overlooking diamonds associated with violence, human rights violations, environmental damage, and worker exploitation. Our stricter criteria for our Beyond Conflict Free™ standard means that less than 1% of the world's diamonds meet our Beyond Conflict Free™ requirements. Our suppliers must maintain detailed chain of custody documentation, enabling us to track and categorize diamonds by origin.

These natural diamonds meet our Beyond Conflict Free™ criteria, and we partner with audited factories that maintain safe labor practices.
Does Brilliant Earth offer a trade-up or upgrade policy for lab diamonds?
Yes, Brilliant Earth provides a complimentary lifetime upgrade program for both natural and lab-grown diamonds. Natural diamonds can be traded for full purchase price credit toward a new natural diamond worth at least 1.5 x the original value. Lab-grown diamonds can be exchanged for full credit toward a new lab-grown diamond valued at minimum 2 x the original purchase price.
